dc.description.abstract According to the seismic maps and past earthquakes and Seismic activities in Afghanistan and Turkey, these countries must be including in a very high seismic zone. Therefore, all constructions in these areas should be analyzed based on a seismic code. Fortunately, both of these countries have earthquake standard for seismic analysis and design, so on the basis of the locations of each construction, we can use these codes for designing. One the most important system against earthquake loads is shear wall. This kind of system has a good seismic behavior under earthquake of ductility and rigidity. Studying about shear walls behavior according to Turkish and Afghan earthquake code could help to develop construction of earthquake resistant buildings. After seismic behavior assessment of shear walls under Turkish and Afghan earthquake codes, one the most important target is How different the results of seismic analysis are under these two standards, and how much of a seismic standard can be used in general in the world and to what extent it is indigenous. For assessment of this subject, most important tools are having a finite element program. The other step is having the last version of Turkish and Afghan earthquake standard and the paper which had been worked on this subject. The seismic behavior assessment of shear walls should be analyzed by finite element method (FEM) in an elastic behavior of concrete reinforcement shear walls. In other words, all of the method of analysis will be in linear analysis and each forces/displacement would be considered in elastic behavior. For studying about Turkish and afghan earthquake standard, the seismic behavior of shear walls in this thesis would be selected as a tool. And for comparison the results of between models, the changeable character is “R”. By changing this character (R response modification coefficient) in each model, how the seismic behavior of different models can be changed can be fully explored. tr_TR
