dc.description.abstractWind energy currently plays a major role in the energy industry, and other fields such as economics, science, and research. With the daily developments in wind turbine systems that have worked on global problems such as global warming, unemployment, and the economy of countries, these systems have become indispensable. According to "Global Wind Reports 2019" only in 2019, 60.4 GW of wind energy were installed. This makes the total global wind energy in 2019 more than 651 GW. Wind Turbine converts kinetic energy into mechanical energy using the rotor then from mechanical into electrical using the generator. One of the generators that are widely used in MW scales wind turbines is the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). This thesis presents control method which is called the grid voltage-oriented vector control method that is used to control a grid side converter (GSC) of the DFIG. This control method is capable to regulate the power flow of the rotor side circuit and maintaining a unity power factor for overall system through feeding reactive power to the DFIG. The used mathematical model is presented in d-q reference frame. The study is validated through simulation using software MATLAB/Simulink, studies including a modeling, control, and simulation on a 2 MW on-grid doubly fed induction generator wind generation system. The aim of this thesis is to validate the operation of the model by obtaining a constant value for the DC link voltage at different wind speeds and reactive power values. The DC link voltage performance results of the MATLAB/ Simulink model will be presented and analyzed.tr_TR
