TÜRKİYE BASININDA TEKELLEŞME TARTIŞMALARI: TÜRKİYE’NİN İLK MEDYA HOLDİNG PATRONU ASİL NADİR ÜZERİNE BİR İNCELEME

Abstract

Monopolization disputes in media economy of Turkey deepen with the investments of Asil Nadir on media. In this study, investments of Nadir in media and their effects to the monopolization of media was researched. Cypriot businessman Asil Nadir went down in history as being the first sample of which accelerating in 1990’s and extant media’s fact of conglomerate. The investments which are made by Mr. Nadir caused being argued the monopolization concept for the first time in Turkish media. At the same time Mr. Nadir was one of the most tangible sample of the communications between political power which wants to get under control the media and businessman. In the study, in the first part, the disputes of the concept of monopolization and concept of monopolization in the media in historical process were evaluated. In the second part, the media investments made by Asil Nadir on Turkish media and their effects of these investments on monopolization were discussed.
