As a reflection of society, artwork is affected by processes of the passing society and the spiritual fashion of the era in which it is created. By virtue of being independent as a unique creation of the artist and the artist’s being a part of the society, artwork is related to all processes with which the artist gets involved. History has seen that the changes in the philosophy and sciences, economic events, wars or popular movements affect the society and the artist. As a result of Enlightenment cogitation, modernity has changed the common life and the artwork was changed with a formal revolution in a way unprecedented until that day, and “Modern Art” was emerged. Modern Art is the reflection of modern human type that is formed by “Modernity” and the manifest of his changing intellectual world. The increase in power and effectiveness of Capitalism at 1950s, entering the epoch stated as “Post Capitalist” or “Post Fordism” and taking shape of a new type of individual who put consumption at the center, has caused the Modern Art Mentality to become unable to satisfy the expectations of post-industrial society, and a new epoch known as “Postmodernism” has started to be voiced. After 1960 the definition of art and its function began to be discussed; the state of being an artwork and criteria of artwork, have been the subjected to interpretations which don’t accept authority propitiously within the new frame of mind of society.tr_TR
