dc.description.abstract	Bu yüksek lisans tezinde yönetmenlik kavramının ortaya çıkışı ile birlikte esas olarak günümüz tiyatrosunda önemli bir tiyatro adamı olan Mehmet Birkiye’nin yaşam serüveni içerisindeki sanatçı, akademisyen kimlikleri incelemiştir.Araştırmanın kuramsal niteliği, yönetmenin kendi üslubunun incelenmesi,sahne üzerinde uyguladığı ve yönteme dönüşen tekniklerinin ortaya konulması üzerine temellendirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara dayanaraktiyatro yönetmenliği kavramı çerçevesinde Mehmet Birkiye’nin reji anlayışına farklı açılardan bakma olanağı doğar. Bu çerçevede tiyatroda eğitimin yeri, bir sanatçının kendini yetiştirme süreci, seyirci sahne ilişkisi, oyuncu yönetmen bütünlüğü gibi öne çıkan kavramlar bu yaşam öyküsü ile birleşerektezin çıkış noktasını oluşturmuştur. Bu çalışma sonucunda, Mehmet Birkiye’nin sanat hayatının sanatçı adayları ve hatta sanatçıların bizzat kendisi için yol gösterici olması hedeflenmektedir.	tr_TR

dc.description.abstractol	The artistic and academic identities of Mehmet Birkiye, who is an important person of the contemporary theater, in the course of his life adventure is studied in this master thesis along with the emergence of the concept of directorship. The theoretical quality of the study was based on examining the unique style of the director and revealing the techniques that he uses on the stage which transform into methods. Based on the findings of the study, it will be possible to approach Birkiye’s understanding of stage management from different aspects in the frame of stage directorship. Some highlighted concepts like the significance of training in theater, the process of an artist’s self-improvement, the audience-stage relationship, and the player-director integrity constitute the main points of the thesis along with this story of life. It is aimed that Mehmet Birkiye’s art life will guide prospective artists and Birkiye’s himself.	tr_TR
