Abstract:
This study aims to analyze the novel The Bluest Eye in terms of oppression,
gender and sexualty. I intend to demonstrate how oppression leaves its mark on the
African American people especially little girls like Pecola, the protagonist of the novel.
In the novel, gender and sexuality are also main issues. They are handled in such
a subtle way that it is impossible for the reader not to be influenced by the tragic story.
The novel illustrates how the impact of society lets the oppressed people down
and which inevitable problems it can cause.
