Objectives: With a valid and reliable scale, it will make an important contribution to the assessment of cognitive functions such as spatial, spatial-visual, and memory functions, and raise awareness of older people with balance disorders. The purpose of this study is to develop a scale to assess vestibular and cognitive functions in the geriatric population with vestibular disorders and to evaluate its validity and reliability. Methods: The study involved 75 individuals aged 60 years and older who complained of imbalance. In the first phase, scale items on balance, emotional, spatial, spatial-visual, and memory were created using the literature. The item analysis was completed by a pilot application, and 25 scale items were determined for the main application. The item analysis and validity and reliability analyzes were completed, and the scale was given its final form. For the statistical analysis of the data, a principal component analysis was performed for the validity analysis. The Cronbach alpha coefficient was used for the reliability analysis. Descriptive statistics were compiled on the participants' scale scores. Results: The Cronbach's alpha value of the scale was found to be highly reliable at 0.86. Statistically significant values were found between the age variable and the spatial subscales, the spatial-visual subscales, and the Cognitive Vestibular Function Scale with a small positive effect (respectively: r = 0.264; p = 0.022; r = 0.237; p = 0.041; r = 0.231; p = 0.046). The results indicate that the Cognitive Vestibular Function Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool at a good level in elderly people aged 60 years and older. Conclusion: Cognitive Vestibular Function Scale; was developed to detect cognitive problems related to dizziness/balance. As a result, a preliminary study was conducted to investigate a rapid, easy-to-use, and reliable clinical scale to assess cognitive function in people with balance & COPY; 2023 Published by Elsevier Espan & SIM;a, S.L.U. on behalf of Associacao Brasileira de Otorrinolaringologia e Cirurgia C & PRIME;ervico-Facial. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate whether a growth factor and a cytokine midkine (MK) can be a new biomarker for the diagnosis and treatment of unexplained female infertility (UFI) cases. Methods: Serum (S), follicle fluid (FF), and cumulus cells (CCs) of the patients aged 20-42 years, diagnosed with male factor (MF) and UFI were used. Patients underwent Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). The Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) and MK levels with other hormone levels (FSH, LH, E2, PRL, INHB, TSH), the oocyte and embryo qualities, the fertilization and pregnancy rates, and cumulus cells (Cell number and ultrastructure, apoptosis rate) were evaluated. Student-T-test was performed and p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results and Discussion: The lowest numbers of CCs were found at UFI (p<0.05). The lowest apoptosis rate with the highest CC viability rate was evaluated at MF (p<0.05). The lowest AMH and MK levels (S, FF) were detected at UFI in comparison to MF (p<0.05). MK and AMH levels of non-pregnant subjects were much lower than pregnant subjects (p<0.05). In addition, these levels were lower in the subjects above 35 age (p<0.05). Structural analysis of CCs showed that the number of lytic cells with cell remnants and apoptotic bodies was higher in non-pregnant subjects. It seems that MK did not show any resistance to both AMH and apoptosis. Conclusions: MK can not be accepted as a new biomarker for the diagnosis and treatment monitoring of UFI cases.

THEORIES OF ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION
ERTEKİN, rfan
In this study, theories of organizational communication are examined in detail. In the present study, it is intended to introduce what kind of a correlation exists among theories of organizational communication. While conducting the study, it is detailed by considering how organizational communication theorists approach to organizational communication perception. In the study, organizational communicationconcept is introduced by comparing the relevant theories. The study has a qualitative style and Comparison Method has been made use of. It was concluded that when approached in terms of all theories, organizational communication is an activity of human relations; and if organizations continue their activities with this perspective in order to increase efficiency in target groups both inside and outside the organizations, they can be successful.

Analysis of the Chinese Foreign Policy on the Crisis Regions in Africa: The Case Studies of Darfur and South Sudan
Karaca, Ragıp Kutay
Africa, as a continent with which China has intensified its bilateral relations most, has been at the forefront of the Chinese foreign policy in recent years. However, certain economic aspects of the Chinese foreign policy towards Sub-Saharan Africa have been construed by some as a sort of neo-colonialism. There are mainly differing aspects in China's energy and trade relations with the countries in the region that cause these discourses on colonialism. The giant investments int the energy sectors of Sub-Saharan Africa countries and the trade-surplus in bilateral trade in favour of China make African countries dependent on China. Owing to this one-sided dependency, there are fears that China is seeking to establish alternative power relations in Africa. Having said that, Chinese efforts for mediation in crisis areas in Africa and its cooperation with international organizations for the resolution of conflicts require a re-assessment of these threats perceived from or constituted against China. For instance, although China opposed the deployment of UN Peacekeeping Operations in the crisis areas in 1990s, it has been actively taking part in five of seven operations as of 2019. In this article, a historical evaluation of the Chinese foreign policy towards Sub-Saharan Africa has been made, and the place of Africa in the Chinese policy has been explained with reference to support given to the UN Peacekeeping Operations in Darfur and South Sudan crisis areas.

Document Sentiment classification using hybrid wavelet methodologies
Dönmez, İlknur
Sentiment and semantic analysis of a text are very important issues of today because of increasing text data. Our study proposes a new method to reveal the hypernym relations (generic term) of the words in the text and to enhance the accuracy results of sentiment classification of the texts. We used wavelet transform method that has been rarely used in text analysis. In our study, the aim is to show how this method contributes the sentiment analysis classification problem. We used classical algorithms and hybrit wavelet algorithm for sentiment analysis problem. It has been observed that when wavelets are applied to classical classification algorithms, the accuracies increased approximately 5%.

COVID-19 social distancing and the US service sector: What do we learn?
Gunay, Samet
This study investigates the impact of COVID-19 social distancing on the US service sector. Results from four industry indexes (hotels, entertainment, restaurants and airlines) indicate that conditional correlations among index pairs exhibited substantial increases. Iterated Cumulative Sums of Squares (ICSS) tests in dynamic conditional correlations show that while the relationship between airlines and entertainment venues is unstable, restaurants and hotels demonstrate stable co-movement. Markov regime-switching regression analysis suggests the pandemic is affecting mainly the entertainment and airline industries, with gradual deterioration in the hotel industry, led by small-market-cap companies. However, we see no evidence of a negative impact on the restaurant industry from the pandemic in our analysis period. This may be related to Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Based on our results, we recommend employment of effective working capital and supply chain management methods in the service sector to streamline the operations of affected companies. In addition, all other sectors should utilize appropriate methods of risk measurement and should take 'Black Swans' into account to incorporate a more accurate probability of unexpected events.

Primary and Secondary Onomatopoeic Words in Karakalpak Turkish in Terms of Phonics
Kaplankıran, Dilek
Onomatopoeic words occupy a crucial position in language. They are words used to express voluntary or involuntary human and animal sounds as well as those of objects or their behaviors and/or movements. Briefly, such words identify sounds or movements. Onomatopoeic words can be classified as either primary or secondary based on their number of sounds and syllables. Primary onomatopoeics represent one-syllable words, and secondary onomatopoeics represent multisyllable words. The movement, sound or appearance, which are intended to be explained with reflection words, are explained more clearly and the current stuation is illustrated and animated. Onomatopoeic words in Karakalpak Turkish, which are called yeliklewisler, can be classified as either seske yeliklewisler or koriniske yeliklewisler, and are rich in vocabulary. In onomatopoeics, a relationship exists between the feature a word expresses and the sound it makes. This study attempts to reveal the meaning that sounds contribute to words and the former's effects on the latter. For this study, the Karakalpak Turkish dictionary is scanned, and vocabulary words that are onomatopoeic are revealed. Moreover, a phonetic examination of onomatopoeic roots is conducted. Through onomatopoeic roots, various sounds can be seen as contributing meaning to as well as the existence of a significant sound system. Onomatopoeic words, which are used heavily in Turkish dialects and accents, are an important subject that should be discussed from various perspectives.

A Review on the Position of South Caucasus in China's Belt and Road Initiative
Aydın, Mustafa
On the Belt and Road Initiative (B&R) (Chinese: (sic)), which is recognized as a global infrastructure development strategy by the People's Republic of China, for the first time in his speech in Kazakhstan on 7 September 2013, Chinese President, Xi Jinping, spoke about the ancient 'silk road' and mentioned the establishment of the 'Silk Road Economy Belt'. As of June 23, 2021, China had signed 206 cooperation documents which covered communications infrastructure, interconnection, investment, trade, finance, technology, people's livelihoods, and oceans with 140 countries and 32 international organizations to join the Belt and Road Initiative. In 2020 alone, Chinese investors made direct investments of US$ 18.61 billion in 58 countries along the Belt and Road Initiative route. In China's Belt and Road Initiative, the South Caucasus region, known as the middle corridor, is of great significance in the process of transition to Europe. Although Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia officially supported this Chinese initiative, the conflict, instability and changing geopolitics in the South Caucasus region made investors uneasy. In this study, global factors, the future of the Belt and Road Initiative in the region and the position of the South Caucasus were studied. And, the advantages and disadvantages of the initiative are evaluated.
