The development of surgically-assisted orthodontic treatment offers solutions to many limitations in orthodontic treatment. This new method has several advantages including reduced treatment time, increased limits of tooth movements, increased amount of alveolar bone, reduced need of extraction, rapid eruption of impacted teeth, and further enhanced post-orthodontic stability. The aim of this article is to present a review of the literature, including historical background, contemporary clinical techniques, advantages, and indications and contraindications of accelerated osteogenic orthodontics.tr_TR
